important welding standard is the American National Standard “ANSI Z, Safety in Welding,Cutting, and Allied Processes”. (3) This standard states that welding and cutting operations pose potential hazards from fumes, gases, electric shock, heat radia-tion, and sometimes noise. GAS WELDING AND CUTTING Oxy-fuel welding, commonly referred to as oxy welding or gas welding is a process of joining metals by application of heat created by gas flame. The fuel gas commonly acetylene, when mixed with proper proportion of oxygen in a mixing chamber of welding torch, produces a very hot flame of about °F. It then discusses the range of arc welding techniques including TIG, plasma, MIG/MAG, MMA and submerged arc welding. Further chapters cover a range of other important welding technologies such as resistance and laser welding, as well as the use of welding techniques for cutting, surface cladding and hardfacing, soldering and brazing.

Print Book & E-Book. ISBNThe Oxy-Acetylene Handbook is a basic handbook or manual on oxy-acetylene welding and cutting and their related processes. It is an invaluable aid to industry as well as in schools and universities. Every effort has been extended in the preparation of this book to make it a textbook on the manual application of the oxy-acetylene processes that /5(10).

Many hazards are associated with welding and cutting safety, but as in any other operations they can be controlled by appropriate preventive measures. Unless these measures are taken, the hazardous situations can easily give rise to personnel injury and/or material damage.

Welding and cutting hazard examples are: Electric shock Fumes and gases Welding sparks. This is a good book to learn "OxyFuel Gas Welding", this is a paperback version of the book.

The book is broken up into "units", after each unit there are review questions to check your knowledge & comprehension.

oldest welding processes, though in recent years, it has become less popular in industrial applications.

However, it is still widely used for a variety of applications. Oxy-fuel equipment is versatile, lending itself to welding, brazing, braze-welding, silver soldering, metal heating (for bending and forming) and oxy-fuel cutting. Oxy-fuel welding (commonly called oxyacetylene welding, oxy welding, or gas welding in the United States) and oxy-fuel cutting are processes that use fuel gases (or liquid fuels such as gasoline) and oxygen to weld or cut metals.
